Cibolo is located in western Guadalupe County near Cibolo Creek and is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan area. Cibolo translates to "buffalo" in the Spanish language. The Indians used to take advantage of the very steep slopes along the banks of Cibolo Creek and stampeded buffalo off the riverbanks in order to make them easier prey. The primary economic factors for the city are the nearby Randolph Air Force Base and the growth of the city of San Antonio. The city covers an area of 5.3 square miles and has a population of 10,085 est.

• Cibolo Creek Ranch - the 30,000-acre Cibolo Creek Ranch is located amidst the Chinati Mountains of southwest Texas. There is a seemingly endless variety of vacation activities offered at the Cibolo Creek Ranch. Cibolo Creek Ranch vacation activities include: horseback riding, hiking, fishing, archery, paddle boats, mountain biking, bird and bat watching, vehicle tours, stargazing parties, and an overnight cattle drive.
• Rio Cibolo Ranch - is a working Longhorn cattle Ranch located just 25 minutes northeast of downtown San Antonio. The Ranch is situated about a mile south of Interstate 10 and along the route the Spanish Conquistadors took as they made westward during the sixteenth century. This route was later designated “The Old Spanish Trail” and stretches from Florida to California. This Trail was also used by the early pioneers before the days of the Texas Revolution.  
• The R.C.R. Corral - a 20,000 square foot facility with authentic western décor that will seat from 100 to 2,000 guests with room to dance in front of the Texas-size stage. Clear plastic drops can be lowered in the event of inclement weather. By utilizing the grounds the Corral can easily accommodate 5,000 people. Numerous food servings and bar areas can be set up inside and out to handle any size crowd. This area lends itself to either relaxed dining on picnic tables or may be transformed into elegant dining complete with table linens and china for the most discriminating client. The surrounding grounds have huge Pecan trees for shade during the day and come alive with light for evening parties on the lawn. There are two huge fire pits to warm those cool Texas evenings.
